Read Missile Bird Manga in English on Manga Planet from June 2020

We all love reading manga. They are not just comics with interesting stories, they ultimately become a part of us.

Unfortunately, most of us can’t understand or read the Japanese language. So to enjoy these marvelous stories, we have to wait till the stories are translated into English. Though it won’t hurt to learn Japanese, Manga Planet is doing the world an amazing service by bringing our favorite stories to us in English.

On Monday, 25th May, Manga Planet made an announcement that it has acquired the license for the badminton manga, Missile Bird, from Home-Sha Inc. The manga will be available in English from 15th June on Manga Planet.

Missile Bird

Missile bird was penned by author Shizusa Io and illustrated by artist Ryusen Kumata. It was first launched on manga website Z by Home-Sha Inc. on 4th April. It was also launched in the Young Jump! App by Shueisha in the same month.

Manga Planet describes the manga’s plot as:

Ayumu Tobii had a terrible one-sided match with Sho Yuki, who was a genius badminton player. After the match, Ayumu swears to quit playing badminton, but everything changes when he gets into the same high school as Sho. Will this be Ayumu’s chance to shine? Nothing is impossible in a sport in which can go as fast as 400 Km per hour!

The first chapter of Missile Bird can be read for free from the Manga Planet Library. Subsequent chapters will only be available to subscribers. In addition to that, subscribers can also avail other manga titles from LEED Publishing Co. Ltd., Home-sha Inc., San-ei Corporation, WANIBOOKS Co. Ltd., and SHONENGAHOSHA. They can also avail titles by mangakas Masaya Hokazono and Nakashima 723.

Manga Planet is also negotiating with other publishers such as Tokuma Shoten Publishing Co. Ltd., Shodensha Publishing Co. Ltd., Bunkasha Publishing Co. Ltd., KAIOHSHA Publishing Co. Ltd., Starts Publishing Corporation, K.K. HarperCollins Japan and MUGENUP Inc.

Hopefully, the negotiations go smoothly, and we can read even more amazing manga titles.
