Pokémon The Movie: Coco DELAYED Due to COVID-19 Coronavirus

The much anticipated Pokémon film, Pokémon Coco has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. This 23rd film of the Pokémon franchise was originally scheduled for release on 10th July.

The film’s official website announced the delay and stated that they would upload further details on their social media pages soon.

Advance tickets for the theatrical version of the movie were supposed to go on sale from 17th April this year. That plan was postponed thanks to the pandemic.

It seems like the hope of the company being able to release the movie in July was let down. Pokémon Coco has thus become the first movie of the Pokémon franchise that has been delayed.

The trailer of the film teased a jungle setting with a character resembling Tarzan, which is Coco. Numerous Pokémon, some known and some unknown, have been showed. Ash and Pikachu run into Coco in the Okoya forest.

It seems as if he has been raised by Pokémon. A mythical Pokémon by the name of Zarude (dark and grass type) also appears in the trailer.

The creators are now aiming for the portrayal of a deeper bond between Pokémon and humans. This concept of the film seems quite different than the previous ones and has led to a lot of expectations from the fans.
