A Guide to All Yellow Stake Locations in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Stakes in Scarlet and Violet come in four different colors even if they are called Ominous Black Stakes in the game. After you collect 8 Stakes of a particular color, you can open a Shrine and get your hands on the mysterious, strong Pokemon locked in those Shrines!

If you wish to catch Chien-Pao, the legendary Shrine Pokemon who looks like a mix between a saber-toothed tiger and a ferret, you need to collect 8 Yellow Stakes scattered all over the Paldea region.

However, collecting all 8 Yellow Stakes is a daunting task, especially if you haven’t bothered exploring Paldea freely. Moreover, these Stakes are hidden quite well, so it becomes even more challenging to find them all.

Check out the locations of all the Yellow Stakes located in Paldea in this guide to get your own Chien-Pao!

Tips to Catch Chien Pao

Once you collect all Yellow Stakes, unlock the Icerend Shrine to meet Chien-Pao. I recommend manually saving the game before you challenge the Pokemon.

This is because you might miss the chance to catch Chien-Pao if it faints or if all your Pokemon faint during the battle. Follow these tips to catch Chien-Pao easily.

1. Avoid using Fire, Fighting, Bug, Rock, Steel, and Fairy type Pokemon. These types are highly effective against Chien-Pao and might make it faint.

2. Use Pokemon with resistance to Dark and Ice-type moves, as well as a high defense stat.

3. Ultra and Timer Balls are your best friends in this battle. You can try to use a Quick Ball during the first turn if you want to risk a chance, or a Dusk Ball if it is night-time.
