Play Detective in Studio Ozon’s New Higurashi When They Cry Inspired Board Game

Higurashi When They Cry was truly a spine chilling anime that included both the elements of murder and mystery.

Now, thanks to Joldeeno, you’ll be able to put on your detective hat and solve the horrendous murders of Hinamizawa in a new board game.

That’s right, the entire plot of Higurashi When They Cry will soon be available to play via Studio Ozon’s new board game. Studio Ozon has been in talks with Joldeeno to come up with a When They Cry murder mystery board game.

They even plan to make a Umeniko When They Cry version of the game as well.

If you’re wondering how this game works, you can imagine something similar to board games like Hasbro’s Clue or Funskool’s Cluedo.

The players are given the task to solve some puzzles and investigate a murder mystery by acting as detectives. One of you might even have a secret identity as the imposter and try to get away with the murder. Your job will be to apprehend that person.

If Among Us is your new mobile game obsession then you’ll find this board game very similar.

As you know, Higurashi When They Cry visual novel games and all the anime adaptations have some pretty twisted stories in each arc. Each murder is shrouded with a lot of mystery and to apply this to a board game might be something worth the wait.

Who knows? You might also be able to play as some of the popular Higurashi characters like Keiichi, Rika, Rena, and even Mion.

We just have to keep our fingers crossed and wait for the official game’s release!

About Higurashi-When They Cry

Keiichi Maebara has just moved to the quiet little village of Hinamizawa in the summer of 1983 and quickly becomes inseparable friends with schoolmates Rena Ryuuguu, Mion Sonozaki, Satoko Houjou, and Rika Furude.
