After three whole seasons of unlimited action and dark fantasy elements, the series is returning with its fourth season! Ainz, aka Momonga’s newfound power, has gotten to his head, and Season 4 will show us what other atrocities he will commit.

According to a reliable source, the Overlord anime series will receive not only its fourth season but also an anime movie!

Apparently, the production of season 4 had started before the pandemic, but it was halted soon after. However, with Japan’s ongoing 4th State of Emergency, we don’t know if the titles will be released in 2021 or 2022.

Season 3 of Overlord adapted the “Two Leaders Arc” and the “Magic Caster of Destruction” arc from the novel. Four more arcs are still left to be adapted, which constitute volumes 10 to 14.

Season 4 will start adapting from the “Ruler of Conspiracy” arc. Ainz will decide to turn his kingdom into a utopia for all races. However, this decision isn’t welcomed by everyone. Many rulers will try to oppose his decision and it will lead to conflict.

We must admit that the announcement for the anime has come at a convenient time!

A special streaming event is scheduled for tomorrow, and the primary cast members will be featured in it. Updates regarding the series might be announced at the event.

There is also a special program for cast students on Saturday, May 8th.
From 20:00 after the 9th episode of “Overlord” was broadcast. Cast: Satoshi Hino (role of Ainz Ooal Gown)

Since there is still a lot of material left to be covered, it is possible that the staff has decided to wrap up the series with the film’s release. Black Clover has also announced its movie release that will act as the anime’s finale.

However, this is all just speculation since the Overlord anime’s finale has not been announced yet.

The new anime movie might be a part of KADOKAWA’s “40 anime titles per year plan.” If that really is the case, then we can sit back and wait for even more movies that will be released this year!

Overlord has received some good reviews for its anime, but season 3 faced some criticism as it was called a “filler arc”. However, season 4 might benefit from the information that was supplied in the last one.

Fans are waiting for Ainz’s next step as we all eagerly look forward to how this peculiar hero cum villain leads the story.
