One Piece Spinoff Heroines Releases a Nami Edition

One Piece has been on the air for 20 years now and with this time it has introduced quite a huge array of characters. The canon manga has explored the past of many of these characters, although fans love it when Oda sheds light on characters’ past, it is not possible to go too deep into the backstory of many of them. As an alternative to this, the franchise has previously serialized Sho Hinata’s One Piece: Ace’s Story novels. A new novel focusing on Nami was recently announced.

One Piece is launching a series of novels titled One Piece: Heroines which will centre on stories of the female leads of the canon manga. A novel revolving around Nami was recently announced. The novel will be written by Jun Esaka and will be illustrated by Sayaka Suwa.

A preview of the novel’s cover was recently shared by @onepiece_mag, the official account for Shueisha’s One Piece magazine.

The novel will cover the life of Nami as a cat burglar before she met Luffy onboard Alvida’s ship. Nami was initially introduced as a money-hungry thief but was later redeemed as it was revealed she needed the money to free her village from Arlong’s control.

She was the first crewmember who met Luffy in the series and the second one recruited right after Zoro because the duo of Luffy and Zoro realised they desperately need a navigator to sail to the grand line. Nami’s true goal is to create a map of the entire world using her navigational skills.

This novel will follow One Piece: Ace’s Story, written by Sho Hinata which revolves around the adventures of Luffy’s elder brother Portgas D. Ace as he set sail at the age of 17 to follow his dreams.

About One Piece:

The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age! Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. With his diverse crew joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
