One Piece Reveals The Legendary Death of Kozuki Oden & His Final Words

The deaths of Gol D. Roger and Edward Newgate sent ripples in the One Piece world kicking off a new era. Their last words are one of the best in One Piece, not only because of the emotional hit from their death but also because of their knowledge about the legendary treasure.

One Piece recently released the 972nd chapter of the series, titled “I am Oden, I was born to boil.” This chapter shows Kozuki Oden’s public execution and his legendary final words that left every One Piece fan in awe.

The upcoming chapters will continue the story in the present timeline right where it was left off.

After Shinobu’s expose to Orochi’s rule, the crowd begins to sympathize with the Kozuki clan and blames themselves for this dire situation. In response to this, Orochi’s men kill many people from the crowd using arrows. This makes the people of Wano genuinely understand what is happening around them – they’re prisoners to a pirate and an immature madman.

After a gruesome hour of being boiled, Kozuki Oden still refuses to die. With Oden still alive, and the people of Wano on his side now, Orochi feels threatened and breaks the deal made between Kaido and Oden.

With guns pointed towards him, Oden sees no other choice but to throw the Nine Red Scabbards to safety, so that they may escape and fulfill his dream.

Kaido, impressed by Oden’s durability, decides to put him out of his misery by shooting him in the head.

This is when Kozuki Oden says his final words –

“They can forget me, for all I care. My soul will live on!!. Build strength while you can, for I am a story to accompany your drinks. I AM ODEN, AND I WAS BORN TO BOIL”.

The chapter ends with Lady Toki reading a letter written by Oden telling her about what’s to come in 20 years.

About One Piece:

The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age!

Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. With his diverse crew joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
