One Piece’s storyline is currently exploring the feudal country of Wano. The Wano arc is currently setting up the biggest confrontation in the story since the Summit War at Marineford‘s old HQ.
As more chapters come out, fans are being introduced to the strongest members of Kaido’s crew (as we pretty much already know all the strong crew members of Big Mom).
Chapter 978, titled “Introducing The Tobi Roppo,” was released on April 27. The chapter reveals all the six members of the Tobi Roppo (Flying Six Headliners). These characters are the third strongest tier of fighters in Kaido’s army, ranking directly below King, Queen, and Jack.
Previously Introduced Tobi Roppo
Two characters previously known to us, who are a part of the Tobi Roppo, are X-Drake and Page One. It was revealed earlier that X-Drake is actually an undercover agent of the Marines.
Drake is the Captain of SWORD, a secret organization within the Marines. Page One was previously introduced in a fight scene where he fought Sanji and ultimately lost.
Other 4 Tobi Roppo
Amongst the other 4, two are very beautiful women. This hints at Nami and Robin, finally getting their personal matchups in this arc.
What’s worth noting is that one of the women, Black Maria, is actually pretty giant, which hints at her matchup being Robin.
Following the trend of playing cards themed names (King, Queen Jack, “X”-Drake), the names of the remaining four Tobi Roppo are based on British, Hungarian, and Chinese card games.
Tobi Roppo Names & Their Meaning
The names of all six members are:
- “Trick Attack” Ulti
- “Go-Getter” Page One
- “Kijin” Gong Zhu
- “Benevolence” Black Maria
- “Red Flag” X Drake
- “Last Rush” Sasaki
Ulti, Gong Zhu, Black Maria, and Sasaki are names of famous card games from Hungary, China, the UK, and Japan.
The Big Revelation
The chapter ends with a panel showing all six Tobi Roppo assembled in a single place.
This is the first time it has happened in a long time (according to them), which makes them think that Kaido has a family problem that he needs to take care of.
The scans also reveal that Ulti is actually Page One’s sister. One Piece is sadly going on hiatus due to the upcoming Japanese Golden Week.
