The making of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is finally acknowledged! Both EA and Bioware have confirmed that the remastered variant of the series is set to come out in 2021.
What is Mass Effect: Legendary Edition?
The first three original games of the franchise: Mass Effect(2007), Mass Effect 2(2010), and Mass Effect 3(2012) will be fused together. The outcome of this amalgamation will be known as Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. The classic games of the past will be given a modern touch.
This means that the single-player base content, DLC, weapons, armors and others will be “optimized for 4k Ultra HD.”
“Modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form.”BioWare
“As game developers, we always hope that our games will transcend their original platforms. Having the opportunity to remaster the trilogy means that the fruits of a decade of our work will live on, and will be experienced better and clearer than ever before.”Casey Hudson, GM, Bioware
Both Bioware and EA never really publicized the making of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. However, it was the worst kept secret as insiders revealed certain secrets from time to time.
Initially, it was believed that the game will release in October this year. But due to the turmoil caused by the pandemic, it was delayed to 2021.
Now, it has been revealed that in the spring next year, enthusiasts should be able to get their hands on the game. The exact date is still unknown to us.
Set to revamp your gaming experience, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be available for platforms like Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Moreover, next-gen platforms like Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 will also get the game with other upgrades.
For now, this is all we know. As the launch date approaches, more will be disclosed about the game.
