Kyocera Sports Character Design by Creator of A Silent Voice

Yoshitoki Oima showed his immense talent to the world in the form of ‘A Silent Voice,’ which became one of the most successful anime films worldwide. While the success was a result of everyone’s combined efforts, the story and characters by Oima played a key role.

Kyocera took notice of Oima’s style and enlisted him to create a series of promo videos for the company’s promotion. The videos resemble the theme followed by A Silent Voice, and the latest one proves it too.

A new promo video by Kyocera has highlighted the original character design by the creator of A Silent Voice, Yoshitoki Oima. The video is for Kyocera’s anime short, ‘Watashi no Hashtag ga Haenakute’ (My Hashtag Does Not Shine), which was released recently.

The video begins with a sweet melody titled ‘Kirakira,’ performed by SHISHAMO, which is also the theme song for the anime short. It is set inside a train, and the story of the two protagonists, Yume and Minoru, is portrayed in one of the windows as the train moves.

It first starts by featuring the protagonists as drawings in a manga which later modify into an anime-like art style. Both Yume and Minoru bear a solid resemblance to Shouko Nishimiya and Shoya Ishida, protagonists of A Silent voice.

Although the video begins by showing Yume and Minoru in an unhappy and depressed mood, the vibe soon transforms into a happy one. The whole thing is essentially a music video featuring original characters drawn by Oima.

Kyocera is on its way to creating more anime shorts like these which will fill your heart with warmth and overflow it with emotions.

Since the creator of A Silent Voice is involved in it all, we are in for an emotional ride filled with tears and happiness.
