Last year, the show received all kinds of praise from the audience and critics alike and even became the most viewed Netflix show in Japan for 2022, even though it was released on December 10.

After recently gaining international attention after obvious comparisons, Netflix has wasted no time delivering good news to the series’ new and old fans.

Netflix has announced the second season of the live-action adaptation of Alice in Borderland in December 2022.

Although there’s no question about the first season’s quality, the most surprising thing was how loyal it was to the manga.

Netflix has had a bad track record when it comes to live-action adaptations of anime or manga, but this has stood out to be an exception.

It really raised expectations for some of the upcoming live-action adaptations by Netflix.

The first season of the show roughly covered the first 31 chapters of the manga. Given that there are just 37-ish chapters to go, the second season will be the final season.

About Alice in Borderland

Alice in Borderland is a Japanese suspense manga series written and illustrated by Haro Aso. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday in April 2015 and finished in March 2016.

Alice in Borderland was adapted into a 3-episode original video animation (OVA), released in 2014.

Ryōhei Arisu, a male high school student is done with his everyday life. He and his two friends meet up and hang out in the town. However, After one blindingly bright explosion, they find themselves waking up in a different world.

Finding themselves in a different deserted world, the trio is forced to participate in survival games or die right off the bat. The three fight to live, as well as to find a way back to their own world
