Netflix’s recent obsession with 3D CG anime is nothing new. However, it seems like Netflix is ready to take its 3D CG business even more seriously and collaborate with Japanese studios to become the best at what it does.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, Dragon’s Dogma, Godzilla: Singular Point are some of the recent or upcoming original CGI anime by Netflix and it looks like we are about to get a lot more.

Now that Netflix is collaborating with an anime studio, we hope that the upcoming anime will feature good CGI rather than looking like a bad video game rendering.

Japanese studio, Digital Frontier, is collaborating with Netflix’s digital production department for future CGI anime projects. This is the first time that Netflix has collaborated with a Japanese anime studio.

“DF will provide video production resources in constant VFX and virtual production for multiple years.

Anime films like Appleseed, Resident Evil: Damnation, and Vengeance have been produced by the studio. Its most famous live-action film adaptations include Death Note and Bleach.

Digital frontier has also assisted with video game productions of Tekken, Resident Evil, Yakuza, and others.

Netflix has an impressive list of original anime like Violet Evergarden, Baki: The Grappler, Aggretsuko, Great Pretender, and many others.

Although many anime fans don’t like 3D CG anime, it seems like these series are driving up Netflix’s profits, and the company is really dedicated to making them.
