While the premiere dates have not been revealed yet, the productions have got a fixed restart date. According to Deadline, production on season 18 of NCIS is planned to begin on September 9, and production on season 12 of NCIS: Los Angeles should start on September 3.

The 17 season-long NCIS series first premiered in 2003 and has been the longest-running show of the franchise. It follows the skilled investigator Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He leads a team of agents of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service’s Major Case Response Team as they solve intense criminal cases. The show has maintained a good reputation with acclaim from audience and critics alike.

The NCIS: Los Angeles, which debuted in 2009, is the LA version of the same navy crime drama. NCIS: LA, however, has failed to garner as much appreciation as the parent show. But it has managed to remain on air for 11 seasons and was running strong until the pandemic shut Hollywood.

Meanwhile, there is still no word on when the cast and crew of the third NCIS franchise member, NCIS: New Orleans, will return to filming.

However, CBS is busy bringing a few other shows back in production. Bull (season five) and Magnum P.I. (season three) both received the go-ahead to return to filming. Yet, the start date of filming isn’t set for either of them. Bull films episodes in New York which had long served the centre of the epidemic for a while now while Magnum P.I. films in Hawaii.
