NBC Teases The Blacklist’s Eighth Season Premiere

Red and Liz are coming back on television for a brand new season. NBC has teased the eighth season of its hit show, The Blacklist. The cable network released a trailer for the premiere of the eighth season and it looks like things are a bit tense between the two lead characters. While the trailer only teases the events of the new season, all will become clear this Friday after the first episode airs.

The Blacklist is a crime drama that debuted on NBC in 2013. It follows Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington, an ex-Navy officer who becomes a high profile criminal. After eluding the FBI for years, he hands himself over to them – with a condition. He provides a list of dangerous criminals that he has compiled over the years and offers to help catch them in return for immunity against prosecution.

His deal also includes a specific person who will act as his partner during the investigations – a novice profiler named Elizabeth Keen.    

NBC has announced that the first episode of the eighth season is titled ‘Roanoke.’ Red will ask the Task Force to investigate the criminal Roanoke, who arranges and executes elaborate extractions. Meanwhile, Liz’s life takes a different turn when she meets with her mother to hatch a secret plan.

The Blacklist stars James Spader as Red and Megan Boone as Liz. The series also stars Diego Klattenhoff, Amir Arison, Harry Lennix and Hisham Tawfiq.

Season eight of The Blacklist premieres on NBC on November 13th, 2020.
