Set in the year 5100, it is about elite athletes from around the solar system competing to become Cosmic Beauty, the champion of a huge athletic tournament.

A reboot manga, Pale Blue Dot: Battle Athletes Daiundōkai ReSTART! began serialization in July 2020.

The official website for Battle Athletes Daiundokai ReSTART! revealed on Sunday that Nanaka Suwa is performing the anime’s opening theme song “Cobalt no Kodō” (Cobalt Heartbeat).

Suwa had also made the announcement at the launch event of her first mini-album “Color me PURPLE” held in Tokyo. The opening theme song, “Cobalt no Kodou,” will be her first single and anime OP theme that she has sung as a solo singer.

There has not been any announcement about Suwa joining the cast as a voice actor yet.

Suwa, who is best known for her role as Kanan Matsuura in the Love Live! Sunshine!! franchise made her solo singing debut this year by releasing her first full album on April 15, 2020.

The album was placed at 19th position in Oricon’s weekly album sales chart by selling over 3000 copies in its first week of release.

OSTER, known for songs like Alice in Musicland, has written, scored, and arranged the opening theme song.

The anime is scheduled to begin airing from April 2021 in Japan.

Previously, a teaser visual featuring the main characters and the 2021 premiere of the anime was revealed, making fans more excited than ever.

About Battle Athletes Dauindokai

Set in a distant future, the world has gotten rid of war. Athletic competitions are now used as a way to settle disputes and maintain harmony amongst the planets.

Amongst the competitions is a stage where women compete in the Cosmic Beauty race.

Akari Kanzaki, the protagonist of the series, wants to participate in the competition and enrolls at the university where athletes are trained. She makes friends and develops herself on her journey to the top.
