Some fans of the My Hero Academia manga series have accused Caleb of being one-sided towards some of the characters and claim that his translations are not accurate.

According to Caleb’s supporters, he has been nothing but devoted to the series and did not show any partiality to the characters.

The fans are blaming him for any scene in the manga that they didn’t like, not realizing that Cook is not in charge of publishing.

Zack Davisson, well-known for translating manga by Shigeru Mizuki and Matsumoto Leiji, has also protested against the situation on Twitter.

However, there is also another view on why Caleb has received much criticism from MHA fans.

A fan translator who knows and understands Japanese had pointed out a slight difference between the original and translated text.

Caleb had violently responded to the tweet using slang and pinning all the blame for the hate comments on the Twitter user.

The encounter went out of hand and fans either showed hate towards Caleb or the person who was trying to point out a technical mistake.

As we all know, there is no such thing as a perfect translation. It is not possible to translate expressions word to word in a different language.

Cook has been an official manga translator for VIZ Media for years, and his work is by no means sub-par.

Professional translators are not paid adequately, yet they continue to work. They can work like this purely out of their love and appreciation for the series.

Nonetheless, we can all admit that we are going to miss the weekly trivia that Caleb used to post for fans on his Twitter account.
