Chapter 289 revealed a major detail in a rather sly manner. On a phonecall, a hero mentions that Gigantomachia is getting bigger by the minute.

II. The fall of Shigaraki Tomura
Shigaraki has been pushed back by Endeavor, Aizawa, Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki for quite some time now. With his undeveloped body, this is starting to take a major toll on his speed and strength.

Chapter 289, titled “Miss Candid and Miss Shut Away”, starts by showing a few heroes (including Lida) making their way to spread the word about Gigantomachia’s unstoppable rampage.
Lida takes this opportunity to chase after Midoriya, Bakugo and Todoroki, concerned by their sudden disappearance.
As Deku falls from the sky, Todoroki catches him and lays him down with Bakugo and Endeavor (who seem to be doing okay). He then administers some first aid to all three.
Blinded by his rage, Shigaraki ignores advice from AFO and continues trying to steal One for All. Just in the nick of time, Lida arrives with some other heroes who help push back Shigaraki for the time being.
The scene shifts to Uraraka and Toga, the central characters of this chapter. They continue fighting, while Toga tries to agitate Uraraka by telling her that she used Uraraka’s quirk for murder.
While duking it out, the duo continues talking about what is right and what is wrong. Toga expresses her sadness about Jin’s death.
