A math prodigy and believer of equal rights for every class, the anime will shed light on the genius Moriarty’s mind and how the world works from his point of view.

The anime is said to have 24 episodes in total – cour 1 will be broadcasted from 11th October 2020, and cour 2 is set to be released in April 2021, as announced on their official website.

New episodes of the series will come out every Sunday from 22:30 JST. Funimation streamed a unique looking version of the anime on 3rd October, where fans witnessed a particular version of the first episode.

The story about Moriarty the Patriot focuses on the antagonist of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series James Moriarty.

The anime shows us the life Moriarty led before proclaiming himself as the one and only Criminal Consultant.

Being an orphan, James and his brothers were adopted by the Moriarty Family and brought up in that household. William is a mathematics professor and has a private firm for his private investigating duties.

We follow his journey as he slowly loses his gentle and kind self and becomes the Moriarty we all know now.

With the help of Production I.G, Director Kazuya Nomura has created this crime mixed mystery masterpiece, and we can’t wait to find out Moriarty’s story more.

The opening theme song by Tasuku Hatanaka is called “DYING WISH,” and the ending “ALPHA” is by “STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION.”

Episode 1 is called “The Earl’s Crime,” which showcases Moriarty trying to find the truth behind a series of murders. The victims all are children, and Moriarty finds a connection with the murders to the rich and elite of the city.

Moriarty the Patriot is a mystery manga by Ryōsuke Takeuchi and Hikaru Miyoshi and has Twelve Volumes.

The story of this manga focuses on the life of William Moriarty, the nemesis of Sherlock Holmes in the Arthur Conan Doyle’s book series.

The anime adaptation is set to premiere on 11th October 2020, and the second part of it will continue from April 2021, summing up to 24 episodes in total.
