Lupin the Third got all the hype as one of this year’s biggest and most anticipated releases. With Baker Street’s most famous entity Sherlock Holmes joining the crew, the anime got even better than expected.
While the season did not necessarily have every episode based around Lupin and Holmes, it was the show’s central plot.
And since there’s Holmes involved, there has got to be some mystery too, and the suspicious organization Raven fulfilled that need.
The anime has been divided into two cours, with both parts revolving around a specific keyword. The first cour’s keyword is ‘mystery’ and the second one has ‘woman.’
But now, after the recent PVs and visuals, we can’t help but think that there’s more to it.
Lupin the Third Part 6 has released an interesting PV for the anime’s second half scheduled for a January 2022 premiere.
It also previews the ending theme, ‘Bitter Rain’ by Sakura Fujiwara and composed by Yuji Ohno.
Following the keyword’s theme, the PV teases many women who are crucial to the plot of the upcoming episodes. The most surprising part was that the trailer mentioned Lupin’s mother and the possibility of her being alive.
Everyone who’s a veteran Lupin fan knows that all we know about his family is his father and grandfather. Lupin’s mother has rarely ever been mentioned, and suddenly bringing her into this whole mess just turned things upside-down.
Moreover, many other innocent-looking women are shown, but I have a hunch that all of them are working under Lupin’s mother. I mean, he’s a genius himself, and I wouldn’t be surprised if his mother turns out to be a badass too.
As the trailer ends, Lupin resolves that if his mother is still alive, he will definitely get to the bottom of this and find her. But is it really his mother? Or just someone pretending to be her to get on Lupin’s nerves?
After this PV, I am even more excited about the upcoming episodes. As thrilling as they sound, this might just turn into one of the most challenging things that Lupin has ever faced.
Getting out of this chaos surely won’t be easy, but Lupin always finds a way, and I can’t wait to see how his crafty mind works this time.
