Lucifer follows the Lord of Hell (played by Tom Ellis) after he leaves his natural habitat behind to run a nightclub in Los Angeles, California. Lucifer finds himself assisting the LAPD on various cases after he catches the attention of Detective Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German)

The season 4 finale of Lucifer put a twist on things. It saw Lucifer return to hell following Chloe’s declaration of love. It is expected that he’ll return to Los Angeles eventually, but how, when, or why hasn’t been revealed yet.

The production of season 5 started on September 6, 2019, and abruptly ended on or around March 13, 2020, when it got shut down by the coronavirus pandemic. Lucifer, at that point, had 15 of 16 episodes completely shot, with a bit of work left for the season finale.

This episode will also dive into the past of Lucifer’s right-hand woman, Maze (played by Lesley Ann-Brandt). These flashbacks are structured as a story Lucifer is telling to Chloe’s daughter Trixie (played by Scarlett Estevez).
