Based on Yasuhisa Hara’s historical epic manga of the same name, Kingdom, the anime paints a vivid picture of China during the warring states period.
The series protagonist Xin, an orphan boy, is dragged head-first into the war where he fights enemies and makes friends along the way.
Kingdom season 1 aired in June 2012 with 38 episodes while season 2 premiered in 2013 with 39 episodes in total.
Kingdom season 3 was released on 6th April 2020 and aired four episodes before halting the broadcast due to the pandemic.
Kingdom season 3 is now rescheduled and episode 5 will be released in April 2021. The announcement includes a PV and visual as well.

The PV shows a determined Xin preparing for battle and the video ends with the April rescheduled announcement.

Season 3 will resume from episode 5 and will be broadcasted in NHK General TV channel. The season will cover the Alliance Arc from the manga series and slowly move the storyline into the Coalition Invasion Arc.
Episode 4 of season 3 saw the continuing war between Fei Xin forces and Qin. Xin planned on leading the troops into the rear and charged into 10000 soldiers.
Meanwhile, the soldiers tried to climb up the Hangu pass only to be showered by arrows. A siege tower headed towards the Zhang Tang Army Headquarters.
But, unfortunately, the tower did not reach up to the walls of Hangu Pass. Just as everyone was hoping for a miracle, the tower slung a bridge connecting the top of Hangu Pass walls and the tower.
The new episodes will hopefully show the soldiers being able to breach the walls of the impenetrable Hangu Pass and start Qin’s Downfall.

Kingdom is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara. The manga provides a fictionalized account of the Warring States period primarily through the experiences of the war orphan Xin and his comrades.
In the story, Xin fights to become the greatest general under the heavens, and in doing so, unifying China for the first time in history.
