New Saru Lock Spinoff Manga About Middle-Schooler Saito to Debut Next Month

When author Naoki Serizawa brought back Yataro Sarumaru, aka Saru, in the “Saru Lock Reboot,” fans were ecstatic. With the reboot of the manga returning later this summer, Serizawa has planned a little surprise for the franchise’s fans!

Saru Lock is about an ordinary high school student named Saru who gets entangled in various crimes. Saru is a master lockpicker and has a lot of knowledge about solving crimes. The series blends the action-adventure and romantic-comedy genres perfectly, making it an instant hit among the audience.

Young King Bull Magazine’s June issue revealed that a new one-shot spin-off manga of Saru Lock Reboot titled “Kenny and Guchi and also Tetsuro” will be published in the next issue.

Also, the “Saru Lock Reboot” manga will be returning later in the year after the conclusion of the spin-off series titled “Saito Chronicle-Aiming High in Heaven’s Crow.” It had been on hiatus since November 2020 because of Serizawa focusing on the spin-off series.

The spin-off manga focused on the middle schooler Saito before he met his friends. “Kenny and Guchi and also Tetsuro” will link the spin-off with the reboot. Fans can expect it to be as good as the rest of the titles in the franchise!

The original manga was published between 2003 and 2009. Due to the massive popularity of the series and the constant demand of the fans, Serizawa decided to work on a reboot manga.

One of the major reasons for the franchise’s popularity has been attributed to the personality of its protagonist- Saru. With the one-shot spin-off getting published next month and the reboot returning later, fans cannot wait to catch their favorite master lock picker in action again!

What will be Saru’s next adventure? Will he get in trouble because of his awkwardness around girls? We will find out this July!

Saru Lock is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoki Serizawa. It was adapted into a television drama in 2009 and a live-action film in 2010.

Yataro Sarumaru, nicknamed “Saru”, is an average high school boy who daydreams about idols but otherwise has no luck with girls.

While working with his father, a locksmith, he gained exceptional skills to pick just about any lock.

Using his exceptional skills, Yataro then finds himself solving various mysterious cases, while also trying his luck with the girls.
