Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Is it Happening? Latest Update 2021

Jujutsu Kaisen is a Winter 2021 anime series that started airing in October 2020. Season 1 concluded its run this March, flashing a “to be continued” after the finale. Needless to say, this won’t be the last time we encounter Itadori and his friends!

The shonen title with weekly monster fights, magic ninja school, and pretty action animation has quickly become a fan-favorite!

The story of Jujutsu Kaisen revolves around Yuuji Itadori. Yuuji is a teenager with strong ideals, a stubborn grandfather, and tons of mishaps that fill his entire being.

Still, he manages to maintain a positive outlook in life. Yuuji also has exceptional physical strength that makes him more robust than an average human.

One day, while witnessing a supernatural fight, Yuuji swallows an extremely cursed object: ex Jujutsu sorcerer, current demon lord, Sukuna’s finger.

As disgusting as that sounds, Yuuji surprisingly becomes a vessel of the demon and embarks on a journey to fully become Sukuna’s vessel by consuming all of his 20 fingers while smashing some S-level curses along the way.

Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the modern big-league anime! So if you love all things shonen, be sure not to miss out on JJK!

The Jujutsu Kaisen movie would definitely be a blockbuster hit, similar to the Demon Slayer movie, and a source of extra bucks for MAPPA. In that case, a sequel season would be in demand.

With the movie coming up this fall, it gives some time for the original manga to churn out new chapters for a new season’s adaptation.

3. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Renewal and Release Date

At the time of writing, Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen has not been renewed or announced as of yet. However, a film will premiere this fall on December 24 in Japan!

This gives us hope that Season 2 could make a comeback as early as Summer 2022.

One possible reason we’re getting a movie instead of a complete season might be the lack of enough source material for Season 2. Regardless of no official announcement, it’s nearly ensured that this popular series will return very soon.

4. What to Expect from the New Season?

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will continue with Itadori’s quest to find and consume Sakuna’s 20 cursed fingers. But before that happens, we may get to see Gojo Satoru first!

Season 1 covered 64 chapters or six arcs from the manga. Season 2 would continue with chapter 65 and would start with Gojo’s Past Arc.

We will get a glimpse at the mysterious past of Gojo Satoru! Furthermore, the infamous Shibuya plan that was hinted at throughout part 2 of the first season will also be set in motion.

Along with these explosive events, Itadori would also face the threat of extermination, possibly due to the over-consumption of Sukuna’s cursed fingers.
