Jiraiya Reveals Sasuke’s Identity | Boruto’s Time Travel Arc

In Boruto Episode 132: Jiraiya’s Assignment, as the sage of Mount Myōboku takes young Naruto and Boruto for a new training assignment. Jiraya suspects both of them having some sort of relationship due to the immense similarity between the chakras of young Naruto and Boruto. He is sure that both of them can develop a new form of fusion Rasengan.

Young Naruto and Boruto starts training but since the father-son combo is easily distracted, the synchronization just doesn’t work out. Boruto gets shaken up as young Naruto’s Nine Tail Chakra gets out of control and injures him. Young Naruto feels angry and disturbed at the same time since Young Sasuke deserted the Hidden Leaf Village. Jiraya having a hint of this time travel thing going on gets adult Sasuke to take some food to Young Naruto to make him feel better.

Adult Sasuke tells young Naruto to never stop trying, thinking to himself that this hard work will eventually pay off. At the same time, he gets deeply affected by this other side of the story which he had never seen. Adult Sasuke walking on the street, deep inside his thoughts bumps into Young Sakura. In a panic, he accidentally drops a photo from the present day while fleeing away. This dropped photograph gets in the hands of young Sakura. Adult Sasuke gets to the woods to have peacetime to think, but he finds Jiraya there (still playing decoy). As the episode is about to end, Jiraya calls adult Sasuke by name when he tries to excuse himself and getaway!

Will Jiraya’s role in the arc remain only as Boruto’s mentor? Or it will end differently? From one of the fans theory, it is being speculated that Jiraya will resign to his fate. Since this might be the only way for young Naruto to achieve his goals. Anyways, you can’t expect the wise Sage to spoil things without knowing the full story, so this theory makes a lot of sense. The cliffhanger suggests we can hope for an impactful conversation between the two in the next episode… or is there something which can turn things in some other way? We will find out!
