Ishida and Asakura Anime to receive an English Dub Soon!

The comedy genre in anime has great titles like I Am Sakamoto, Gintama, and Cells at work. Audiences of all ages love well-timed gags, and that is what this genre is known for.

Animes are known to bring up a joke in the most serious of situations. Even the most OP characters aren’t spared when it comes to jokes.

Voice actor Kiba Walker, the President and COO of Ascendant Animation, announced on July 7 that he is working on an English dub of the Ishida and Asakura as its ADR Director and writer.

Ishida and Asakura are the first ones to get an English dub by Ascendant Animation and fans are glad about this.

Walker has also stated that the anime’s English cast will be diverse with “all types of actors from POC (People of Color) to LGBT.”

The anime initially directed by Pippuya at Dax Production and Hotline aired in 2013 as two-minute anime shorts on Tokyo MX. It was then streamed simultaneously by Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan.

It saw actors Tooru Sakurai and Saima Nakano portraying the highschool duo Yamada and Satō, respectively, while Sumi Shimamoto played Kinoshita-sensei in the original series.

The anime’s theme song “Dokidokidoku” was performed by Rayli, and it concluded on March 24, 2013, after completing 12 episodes.

Ishida and Asakura is a surreal gag manga written and illustrated by Masao.

The series initially started as a web manga published on pixiv and the author’s homepage but began serialization in Shonengahosha’s leading Young King Magazine and Monthly Young King in 2011.

The manga wrapped up on July 19, 2012, after completing 15 installments and saw its second and final compiled volume by Shonengahosha in December 2012. The second compiled volume featured an unpublished ending.

The story focused on the friendship between two high school boys Asakura who wanted to become a teacher at a girls school in the future, and Ishida, who wanted to become a florist with Asakura in the future.
