Insomniacs After School provides a beautiful perspective on a condition many dread. The protagonists, Ganta and Isaki, high school students with insomnia, show us that it’s not all bad and there’s always a silver lining.
Although it’s an underrated manga, it received an anime adaptation, and its promos are nothing less than magical. They’re also the main reason why this upcoming series is getting so much hype.
Speaking of promos, the latest trailer for Insomniacs After School introduces some new characters who seem just as lovable as the protagonists. The anime is slated for an April 2023 debut, and more details will be out soon.
The trailer begins with Ganta’s daily school life full of people who are not fans of his grumpy and difficult personality. His life changes drastically when he encounters Isaki, another insomniac in the school’s abandoned astronomical observatory.
After this shocking encounter, the two decide to use the observatory as a resting place to escape from others. However, the school intervenes and says they can’t let students use the site if there’s no astronomy club.
So, Ganta and Isaki go on to re-establish the school’s defunct astronomy club to have the observatory to themselves.

Insomniacs After School (Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia) is a manga series by Makoto Ojiro. It started serialization in the Big Comic Spirits magazine in May 2019 and has been collected into 11 volumes as of January 2023.
The manga focuses on two school students, Ganta and Isaki. Both of them have insomnia, and Ganta walks in on Isaki’s secret spot in school, an abandoned observatory.
The two become quick friends and start being with each other often as they find solace in the other person.
