Hulu’s Solar Opposites Renewed for Two More Seasons

Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan like Gods for all adult animation lovers! After a very successful Rick and Morty, the creators’ latest work of art Solar Opposites has taken the adult animation world by storm.

So much so that Hulu has renewed not one but two seasons of the sci-fi comedy series.

Get ready for a lot more solar meandering amidst the lockdown!

Created and partly voiced by Justin Roiland who is working with Mike McMahan, a veteran writer and producer for Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites has also been executive produced by the duo along with Josh Bycel.

The series follows a team of four aliens who crash land on earth and into a ready-to-live-in house in a small town America. The guests, however, are split evenly, on the pros and cons of their host planet Earth.

Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food and ‘fun stuff’.

Meanwhile, they aren’t here without a mission. They have taken it upon themselves to protect a living super computer, Pupa, that will one day evolve and consume them and also terraform the Earth. You cannot miss its Baby Yoda-like blend of cuteness and mystery.

Even the critics fell in love with the aliens of Solar Opposites with Rotten Tomatoes terming ‘charming, hilarious and surprisingly sincere’.

The guys at the Hollywood Reporter said the show was worth a watch independent of a Rick and Morty-esque colorful goofiness, with merits of its own. However, there were those asking for a slight tone down about the paid product promotions on the show!

Solar Opposites was renewed by its father company Hulu, which also happens to be the king of all adult animations that we have come to love.

Not only is adult animation the most popular genre on Hulu, Solar Opposites too has distinguished itself as the most popular original comedy on the streaming platform.

Solar Opposites is produced by the 20th Century Fox for Hulu.

On the same day, Hulu also announced the renewal of another animation series Crossing Swords for a second season.
