How To Watch Noblesse? Easy Watch Order Guide

With Webtoons becoming increasingly popular, we’re receiving many anime adapted from these online comics. Tower of God and the God of High School are the most recent ones and have performed exceptionally well.

However, there’s another webtoon that will receive a complete season this fall called Noblesse.

There are two ONAs that merely scratch the surface of the amazingly well-written webtoon, Noblesse. The series recently received a new T.V installment in October 2020 and starts the story from season 2 of the webtoon.

The setting might seem over-used, but the story-telling is unique, and hence, the plot never gets dull. There are lots of bloody fights and other supernatural elements that make Noblesse entertaining.

If you love the supernatural realm of anime, you should definitely check out Noblesse.

1. Release Order

I. T.V. Series

  • Noblesse (2020, Ongoing)

II. OVAs/ONAs

  • Noblesse: Pamyeol-ui Sijak (2015)
  • Noblesse: Awakening (2016)

2. Chronological Order

  • Noblesse: Pamyeol-ui Sijak
  • Noblesse: Awakening
  • Noblesse

3. Conclusion

The recommended watching order of Noblesse is its chronological order. Even though Pamyeol-ui Sijak takes place later on in the webtoon as a flashback, watching it first will not affect the plot even if you wish to read the webtoon.

The new Noblesse anime starts from season 2 of the webtoon and isn’t a good introduction to the series. If you haven’t read the webtoon or watched any previous installments, you’ll be really confused, so do not jump to the 2020 anime first.

4. When To Read The Webtoon?

The Noblesse Webtoon is free to read on the Webtoon app and website. Since the ONAs cover only small portions of the story, you might feel the need to read the original source for more content.

Ideally, if you wish to read the webtoon, just read it as a standalone since it will cover everything in the anime. However, you first want to judge whether the series is for you by first watching the anime, follow the list below.

  • Noblesse: Pamyeol-ui Sijak
  • Noblesse: Awakening
  • Webtoon (from the beginning until season 2)
  • New Noblesse anime
  • Webtoon (from the last chapter covered in the anime)

Note: We still do not know how many chapters the anime will cover for sure, so the list will be updated after the end of season 1.

5. Where should You Start from?

After successfully captivating millions of readers, Noblesse is yet to impress the audience with a good anime adaptation. Both the T.V. series and ONAs have failed to do justice to the original source.

So, if your first introduction to a brilliant story that literally took over 10 years to complete is mediocre anime, then that would be a real shame.

If you’re really interested in checking out Noblesse, I highly recommend reading the webtoon first. There’s no need for you to watch any of the anime, atleast till the end of season 1 in the webtoon.

The original webtoon is divided into seven seasons and has a total of 544 chapters. Read season 1 first, and then check out the anime. If you enjoy the pace of the anime, that’s great; otherwise, you can always go back to the webtoon!

6. About Noblesse

This series, released in 2007, is by Son Jeho and illustrator Lee Kwangsu. The story is about a nobleman named Cadis Etrama Di Raizel.

One day, shockingly, he wakes up over 800 years in the future. Reunited with his companion Frankenstein, Rai enrolls in a local high school and makes friends with a group who vow to help Rai uncover his forgotten past.

This announcement is exciting for South Koreans. South Korea has produced dozens of world-famous manhwa titles, but they never get an anime adaptation.

Now, fans will have to wait and see how these manhwa titles shape up in anime form and whether they’ll spark a trend of manhwa-turned-anime adaptations.
