Despite being Mana-less, Asta never gave up or resigned himself to fate. During his fight with Vetto, the sorry state of his arms and the diagnosis of the doctor that he would never be able to use them, was enough for anyone to ultimately give up. Not Asta, though.
He announced his desire to fight against fate and to not give up. However, will he succeed just by not giving up? Will his arms heal?

3. Was it a curse?
Asta fought Vetto from the Midnight Sun in the underwater temple. Vetto was using demon beast magic as he felt despair. Thanks to this, his attacks were accompanied by curse magic which affected Asta’s arms when Vetto broke them. So yes, Asta’s arms were cursed.
4. Who cursed them?
In order to protect the magic stone from falling into the hands of the Midnight Sun, the Black Bulls guard the underwater temple. During this time, Vetto and three others from the Midnight Sun attack them.
Asta, Finral, Noelle and Vanessa try their best to fight and defeat Vetto through their teamwork. During this time, Vetto grabs Asta’s arms and states that his attacks do not work and he let their team hit him so that they could feel despair.
Vetto then proceeds to repeat the word ‘despair’, over and over while breaking Asta’s arms. Since Vetto’s attacks were accompanied by curse magic, Asta’s arms were cursed on top of being broken.
5. How did they get healed?
After the fight against Vetto, Yami takes Asta to the best doctor in the Clover Kingdom – Owen, who works directly under the Wizard King.
After checking Asta’s condition, Owen diagnoses that unfortunately, it is impossible to heal him. During the battle with Vetto, Asta’s arms were cursed, making it impossible to use magic to heal them.
Worse, his strength shattered the bones, making them impossible to use at all. When other members of the Black bulls hear about this, they all start to search for a cure.
I. The Forest of the Witches
Vanessa believes that the Queen of the Witches can cure Asta’s arms and therefore she plans to exchange her freedom for it. However, the other members of the Black Bulls arrive in time to stop that from happening and get ready to fight the Queen.
However, at this time the Queen shows the approaching armies outside of the forest, with the group recognising the leaders of each army, Fana of the Eye of the Midnight Sun and Mars of the Diamond Kingdom.
Asta shows his determination to protect the forest and fight them all but is then reminded of the state he is in.
Noelle then steps in and demands the Queen heal Asta’s arm since Asta has shown his desire to help defend the forest, further adding that they will also provide aid.
The Queen agrees to heal Asta’s arms, and furthermore, intends to make them more robust. she then uses her blood magic to ensure that his arms are completely healed.
