Utada has been performing the theme songs for all three previous Evangelion films and gained much popularity through them.

Netflix announced an original series titled First Love, inspired by Utada’s debut album “First Love.”

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 film was initially scheduled to be released on June 27 but got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Studio Khara stated that that the film has finished recording dialogue, including retakes.

The first 10 minutes and 40 seconds of the film was screened at the Japan Expo event in Paris at a “Yoko Takahashi x Evangelion Stage” presentation.

The video was also screened in Shanghai, Los Angeles and 6 other locations throughout Japan.

The first three films of the franchise, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance, and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, premiered in 2007, 2009, and 2012 respectively.

The upcoming film will be the fourth and final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series.

Initially, the film was set to be released along with 3.0 as one film. But it will be released separately since there was too much content left to cram into a single movie.

In this film, Evangelion Unit 8+2 will be taking on enemies that look somewhat like green versions of the Mark.06.

The Evas are heavily equipped with large assault rifles having progressive knives attached to them as crude bayonets. They suddenly appear and engage with Evangelion Unit 8+2.

It is expected that Eva 8+2 will defeat them quite easily. However, a much larger group of unknown Evas is seen surrounding them in the Evangelion 3.0 preview video.

About Neo Genesis Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a Japanese anime television series produced by Gainax and Tatsunoko Production, directed by Hideaki Anno and broadcast on TV Tokyo from October 1995 to March 1996.

This series revolves around Shinji Ikari, who was recruited by his father to battle giant monsters (called Angels) in enormous mecha suits (called Evangelion).
