For all Shonen anime fans, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku was among the most-awaited anime. It’s no surprise anymore because the first episode left our jaws dropped with the action sequences and a gripping story.
Now that the anime has begun, a second surprise caught fans off-guard. Who would expect a new chapter right after the anime debut? Yes, that is legit.
On Saturday, the manga publisher Viz Media released a new side-story chapter of Yuji Kaku’s Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku manga. This is a special one-shot chapter titled “Side Story: Forest of Misfortune”.
Since it is a one-shot, the chapter is over 70 pages long and tells an entire story of Gabimaru learning to farm after the events of the main series. As of now, it is available for free in Viz’s Shonen Jump digital library.
A little heads up, there are a few minor spoilers in the chapter that reveal how the series will end. In case you want to keep that suspense, then it is better to keep it for later.
Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is sure to gain a lot of viewers. I have never watched a first episode start like that, and the mystery of the island is even more enchanting. Gabimaru is an interesting character and will be remembered for a long time.

Gabimaru: The Hollow is a ninja assassin who is on death row. He feels nothing and can’t be killed due to his training as a shinobi. Yet, when he faces Asaemon Sagiri, he realizes his will to live and return to his wife.
He is assigned the task to find the elixir of life on a legendary island. The island kills any person sent to it. Will Gabimaru find the elixir and escape alive?
