My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, also known as Hamefura, is a light novel series that has been adapted into an anime. The anime is based on the genre of “otome” or role-playing game. It has a unique take on role-playing games, with the protagonist being the villainess.
The light novel was adapted into an anime series, which was broadcasted from 4th April to 20th June in Japan. The last episode of the anime (episode 12) revealed the making of a second season.
The second season of My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! anime will air in 2021. The illustrator of the original novel, Nami Hidaka, personally drew a visual to commemorate the announcement of the anime’s second season.
Concrete dates for broadcasting have not been revealed yet.
Hamefura, the light novel, was published by Ichijinsa and its English publisher is J-Novel Club. The light novel had been adapted into a manga in 2017; another spinoff manga was released in 2019.
Keisuke Inou directed the anime series under studio Silver Link. Megumi Shimizu handled the series composition, and Miwa Oshima was in charge of character design. Crunchyroll licensed the anime and it’s English subbed version could be streamed from May 16, 2020.
The opening theme song of the anime, “There’s More Than Just One Route For a Maiden!” is performed by Angela while Shouta Aoi performed the ending theme, “Bad End.”
The twelfth episode of the anime ends with Maria confessing her feelings to Catarina. Yet, the oblivious Catarina thinks it’s just a greeting which ensures friendship.
She becomes the center of attention as Raphael also becomes one of her admirers. We can expect the second season to start where the first season left off.
