Mobile Suit Gundam series was the one of the earliest anime that boosted the “Mecha” genre we all know now.
Director Yoshiyuki Tomino made this masterpiece back in 1979 and people were astonished by the fact that robots could be used as weapons of war and can be operated by people wearing these said mechanical suits.
The Gundam series was a perfect mixture of mecha, military and science fiction and this resulted in its huge popularity.
Bandai Namco Amusement posted a trailer, visual, and a report manga for its upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam: Senjō no Kizuna II arcade game.
The game is set to release in 2021 and can be played in special arcades equipped with the game setup.
The video features the gameplay expected in the upcoming battle royale-like survival game where your character is dressed as a Gundam to fight your opponents. The video also describes the immersive arcade setup where you play the game.
Federation and Zeon point of view visual posters of the game were released by Bandai Namco.
The original Gundam game (2006) is getting the whole setup renewed after 14 years.
The display screens are said to be 43 inches HD, the enclosed pod-like chamber will include levers and pedals for you to control your character, the setup is equipped with voice chat for a 4v4 or 6v6 team battle.
Some new close combat actions as well as a new option to cancel jump boost with “Boost Cancel” has been added. New shields have been added for the short-range gunner and an option to fire continuous attack at your opponent with “Just Shot” has also been added.
Special revival option for fallen comrades and a chance to change their damaged mobile suits is also a newly added feature. Players can now personalize their suits with colors and features with a new customization option.
Gaanya Morimoto posted a gameplay report manga after testing the gameplay of the arcade game.
The story of the game depicts that you are a soldier of either Federation or Zeon; the two units fighting a long war. You will have to control your Gundam from the cockpit and win for your team.
The arcade will feature a pod almost similar to a cockpit for a more immersive experience. The game originally made in 2006 was also made PlayStation friendly back in 2009.
A VR experience of the game was launched in 2017-2018 in a VR centre in Shinjuku.
