Kei Sanbe, Author of ERASED, to Launch a New Manga This Month

Kei Sanbe is the author and illustrator of the Japanese manga series Erased. It was published in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine from June 2012 to March 2016 and is now licensed in English by Yen Press. The series was also converted into anime, which was highly welcomed by both fans and critics.

Also, Sanbe launched the For the Kid I Saw in My Dreams manga in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine in July 2017 and ended it in July 2022. Yen Press is releasing the manga in English. Sanbe also launched the Island in a Puddle manga in Kodansha’s Evening magazine in November 2019 and ended it in September 2021. Kodansha USA Publishing released the manga in English.

On Saturday, it was revealed in the March issue of Square Enix’s Big Gangan that manga creator Kei Sanbe would launch a new manga titled Otogi no Hako no Reto in the magazine’s next issue on March 25.

The magazine describes the manga as a “sword-fighting period drama set in the northern country.” The manga will have a color opening page and will also appear on the issue’s cover. The manga will feature counseling and cooperation by Akan Ainu Consult, an organization “aimed at disseminating Ainu culture and protecting Ainu intellectual property.”

The manga Erased is one of the works that stand out the most, and it was nominated for the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize “Reader Award” in 2014, the Manga Taisho Awards in 2015, and 2017’s Seiun comic award. The work of author Kei Sanbe is unique and very complex, which explains why he has been successful over the years.
