Odd Taxi is one of those slow-building anime that keeps you hooked to its episodes. In the first few episodes, the series portrays an almost perfect city where people want to follow their dreams.
The reality was exposed only in the latter part as Odokawa, the taxi driver, gets tangled in the mysterious disappearance of a girl.
Episode 13 gave us a shocking dive into Odokawa’s mental state, and after it ended, we were left with quite a few questions about the series. An upcoming film was recently announced, and it will give us the aftermath of the anime.
Eiga Odd Taxi: In the Woods, the anime film, will be released on April 1, 2022. Crunchyroll has announced that it will be streaming the movie. Thus, international fans don’t have to wonder when the film will reach them.
A new trailer has been released and it gives us a glimpse of the underworld gangs who actually run the city.
In the upcoming movie, concerned people will testify about the case involving Odokawa. At the end of the video, Odokawa asks, “How far?” and is provided with a burst of familiar laughter. The person’s voice was heard in episode 13, and they reply, “Maybe you don’t remember?”
A new visual was also revealed, which shows Odokawa in a different outfit than what we are used to.
Our beloved walrus stands in the middle of a crowd with no expression. A tagline reads, “The truth is in the bush.”
Will the taxi driver get in more trouble than he can handle? Who does this mysterious voice belong to? Another session of mind-boggling puzzles awaits us as the movie approaches its premiere.

Odd Taxi is an original Japanese anime series produced by OLM, Inc. and P.I.C.S.. The series aired in Japan on April 6, 2021.
Odokawa is a taxi driver who lives an ordinary life and as a slightly eccentric stranger who has no relatives nor any relations with other people, Odokawa’s hobby is listening to Rakugo on the radio before going to bed.
Although, he does have a conversion with his customers – Kabasawa, a college student who wants a buzz, Shirakawa, a nurse who’s hiding something, comedian group Homo Sapiens, who isn’t selling well, and the city hoodlum Dobu.
The conversations with these people, which should not have meant much, lead to a girl who disappeared.
