It is fascinating looking back at how far the Dragon Ball series has come. Gone are the days when Goku fought humans because nowadays, even Gods are no big deal.

Furthermore, from Buu to Vegeta, these iconic characters always stood out from the crowd due to the signature artstyle of Mangaka Akira Toriyama. With the series’ 40th anniversary, fans are in for a treat!

Under the Dragon Ball Super Gallery Project, Mangaka Masashi Kishimoto of Naruto is set to redesign one of the iconic Dragon Ball manga covers to commemorate the 40th anniversary.

The redesigned covers will feature new mangaka each month, starting on the Saikyo Jump September issue on 4th August 2021. After this, new designs will continue rolling out until the official Dragon Ball anniversary in 2024.

Watch Dragon Ball on:

Kishimoto sensei has redesigned the 11th volume of Dragon Ball manga covering the Tenka’ichi Budōkai tournament, which is most well known for the Krillin Vs. Goku fight. The volume also features the well-known duo of Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu.

Having Naruto’s mangaka take his spin on the Dragon Ball artstyle is genuinely very interesting, as such collaborations bring out the best of both worlds.

I am very excited about which mangaka is going to redesign the cover next!

Maybe we will see a Demon Slayer x Dragon Ball cover? The possibility is limitless; till then, the fans can look forward to more events that are sure to be announced in the coming month.

About Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama’s brainchild, came into existence in 1984. It has spawned several manga, anime, films, and other media adaptations.

The initial series follows Son Goku and his adventures when he was a child. It is here that we are first introduced to Goku as he meets Bulma, Yamcha, and others.

He trains in martial arts and participates in the World Martial Arts Championship for the first time in this series.
