Dr. Stone Chapter 156 Reveals Senku & Dr. Xeno’s Relationship

Dr. Stone’s previous chapter (155) revealed important information about Senku’s past. Dr. Xeno, the scientist which Senku’s team encounters in America, is an ex-NASA scientist who was also Senku’s mentor.

Chapter 156 of Dr. Stone was released on June 26, and it further clarifies the relation between the two. Senku has known Xeno ever since he was ten years old. It was during the time he was trying to build a rocket, but had several hurdles to overcome.

To advance his research, Senku sought help from like-minded people all over the world. Xeno was the only person who responded to his needs and realized Senku’s emails for help wasn’t a prank, and he whole-heartedly guided him towards his goal.

Difference between Senku and Xeno

However, as their online classes and research progressed, Senku realized the difference between him and Dr. Xeno. Both of them sought knowledge, yet their goals were different.

While Senku wanted knowledge just for the sake of it, Xeno wanted to use knowledge to become a dictator. While he tried to tell Senku about weapons of biological warfare, Senku, on the other hand, tried to use this advice for advances in the medical field.

Dr. Xeno is the type of person whom Tsukasa was against reviving initially. It was due to his fear that science will be used for evil.

What would Dr. Xeno have said to Senku?

The scene of Senku and Dr. Xeno standing side by side in front of the NASA headquarters has led to a lot of speculations and theories from fans. Did they non-verbally communicate their differences? Or did they have a conversation which will be shown later on in the manga?

Maybe, Xeno had already offered Senku to work with him but got rejected? Although it is pretty clear that it was at that moment that their difference in opinion seemed more concrete than ever.

Speculations about the arc

As Dr. Xeno is a scientist from NASA, and Senku himself admitted that they might have to venture into space at one point to apprehend the culprit behind humanity’s destruction, the arc may, later on, extend to Xeno becoming an ally and helping the Kingdom of Science to reach outer space.
