Disney Plans To Film Ant-Man 3

Disney has decided to move forward with Ant-Man 3 and it will film in 2021

One thing that has been overlooked in the recent avalanche of announcements and MCU developments is the absence of Ant-Man. The Eternals, Black Widow, and other movies have all gotten films in phase four of the MCU, but Ant-Man has seen no mention or attention.

Amidst announcements of highly anticipated sequels to Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Doctor Strange we noticed that Ant-Man was missing from the San Deigo Comic-Con and D23 Disney Expo.

Rumours are that the studio may well be too busy to make Ant-Man 3. The stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are also working on other projects with confirmation that the former has signed up for Ghostbusters 2020 and hence may not be available until early 2021 and that Lilly has two sizeable plans – namely Dreamland and Happy Life – on her plate as well.

A new report from scoopster Charles Murphy says that Disney has decided to move forward with Ant-Man 3 and it will film in 2021.

The news is pretty exciting considering a few weeks ago it was speculated that Ant-Man 3 had been shelved and there may be a Disney+ show for the character instead.  Also recently, Kevin Feige teased the future of Ant-Man in the MCU.

In an interview with The New York Times, the Marvel Studios president touched on the possibility of more from Scott in the MCU. He didn’t commit to anything in particular, but his words still leave us with a hopeful feeling.

“The chess pieces were arranged very purposefully after ‘Endgame.’ Those that are off the board are off, and those that are still on, you never know.”

While there is no official confirmation, we hope that Marvel and Disney don’t rule out Ant-Man 3. We will be waiting patiently for studios to break some news themselves.
