Disney Errors 101 – How to Resolve Errors in Disney+

A major downside of larger and older corporations is the lack of agility when adapting to new technologies.

So it is not much of a surprise that the giant production house Disney’s streaming handle Disney+ has reported at least a gazillion glitches ever since its launch.

From a lousy product to easily hackable architecture, Disney had a lot of work to be done on its young streamer.

Although the launch and subsequent glitch-working happened in time for the global lockdown, which saw a major spike in streaming hours across platforms, Disney+ is still far from perfect.

The errors we have come across while using Disney+ have gone viral in terms of its fast multiplication, at least.

So here are some antidotes for the most common errors, in case you decide to head to Disney+ for hit originals The Mandalorian or Little Fires Everywhere.

The Mandalorian

Error Code 4

This one is a case of checking your payment details, especially if a new payment month is nearing.

You’ve either used an expired card or one that isn’t from a region that currently offers Disney+, such as France or India.

Error Code 8 – Invalid email or password

Check your username and password. Make sure the caps lock is turned off, even for the email section. Yes, that old!

Error Code 9 – Login or payment issue

If you have recently changed your Disney+ account password, chances are you have been automatically signed out of all devices.

Just sign in again with your correct username and password, and you’re good to go.

Error Code 11

Since a lot of the content available on Disney+ is region restricted, there are bound to be shows and movies which may be unavailable in your region.

Even if you’re a US citizen who bought it in America, if you go on holiday to a country that doesn’t have it, you won’t be able to use Disney+.

Error Code 13 – Device limit reached

Following Netflix’s struggles with account sharing, Disney has been particular about the number of devices you can use at a time from the start. For a premium account, Disney allows up to four devices simultaneously logged in.

If you have multiple streaming devices set up on your account, you could try signing out of a few devices before streaming past the error code 13.

Error Code 22

Depending on who’s asking error code 22 is either a good thing or a bad thing. The message itself is due to Kids Mode blocking something inappropriate for children.

If your kids are complaining, you can ignore them. If it’s just you, you’ll need to head into settings and turn off Kids Mode.

Error Code 24

This error mostly appears in case your internet connection has a fluctuating speed. Make sure to stop using any chrome extensions since they could be using too much of your bandwidth.

If you are using Disney+ outside the US, you may be getting the very same error for a totally different reason — a faulty VPN. Get a good one!

Error Code 25 – Internal error

This error means there is a service outage issue at Disney’s end. Usually, it takes a few hours for this error to be resolved. Meanwhile, as a safe option, you can try logging out from the Disney+ app and log in again.

As a precautionary measure, also contact Disney+ Customer Support to make sure that the service unavailability is due to an issue at Disney’s end and not yours.

Error Code 30 – Device registration issue

Even though Disney+ offers dedicated apps for many streaming devices and hardware, if you see this error, chances are that your device does not support Disney+.

Error Code 31

In the US, this error means you are watching Disney+ on a smartphone, with the location services disabled.

To resolve this issue, just go to your device’s settings and enable location services.

Outside the US, chances of this error are higher and are the result of a faulty VPN service.

Error Code 38 – Time settings

Remember to check the time and date settings on your streaming device.

Not doing this will cause issues when you try to access content on Disney+. Due to the difference in time between the server and your device, you will end up seeing Disney Error code 38.

Error Code 39

This error message reads, “This means that the video you are trying to watch cannot be watched at this time. This could be a rights availability or other issue with Disney+”.

This error usually appears if you are streaming Disney+ on a gaming console or if you are streaming on too many devices at the same time.

Try restarting your console, or logging out of your other devices. If that still doesn’t work – try changing HDMI port on your TV to your Xbox. It’s a minor change but could fix error code 39.

Error Codes 41 and 76

“We’re sorry, but we cannot play the video you requested.”

While the error message doesn’t explain the reason why this error came up, multiple online troubleshooting guides blame it on the overloading of the Disney+ servers in your region. If you are watching a new movie or episode, you are likely to encounter this error.

To resolve, restart your streaming device, which will clear the device’s RAM, and grant it fresh access to Disney+ server.

If that does not help, you can try content a couple of days for other streamers to finish watching the latest released content. Once the traffic is back to normal, you can watch the content smoothly.

Error code 76 simply says, “We’re currently experiencing slow Internet connection speeds.” For error code 76, most online users also noted that rebooting the streaming device does not work. However, some people were successful in accessing Disney+ content after deleting and reinstalling the app.

Error Code 42

This error appears without an error message, which explains why most people get a bit too worried about it. There is a very simple workaround that you can try.

Disney-Plus-Error-Code-42

This error message appears when there are connectivity issues with your device.

So check to see that you are still connected to the Internet and try again. So before you dial the Disney Customer Support, check your Internet first.

Error Code 83

Error Code-83 Disney

This error usually occurs when you are away from your home, watching Disney+ on your smartphone, and your location is turned off.

It can also occur if your location is on, but you are in another country. It seems to stem from using Disney+ on your mobile or using mobile data, such as a hotspot or your data plan, or Roku devices.

It is the most prevalent and irritating error. There’s no known fix as of writing, so your best course of action is to contact Disney

Error Code 86

“We’re sorry; this account has been blocked.”

Disney+ can suspend or block your account permanently if you are found violating Disney+ policies. For instance, if you are using Disney+ on more than 5 devices very often, or if you are sharing your password with your friends and colleagues, Disney may block your account.

Once an account has been blocked, you may have to follow up with Disney Support to her account back.

Error Code 87 – Log in or password issue

There are quite a few different error codes that appear due to incorrect username and password.

The usual fixative can resolve all of them – just sign out and sign in again.

No error code

If you’re getting a ‘No Error Code’ message, try restarting your app until you either get a more useful error code number, or it goes away all by itself.

Finally, if all else fails, make sure you contact the Disney Plus Help account on Twitter, as they might be able to let you know if there are any problems or planned maintenance in store.

Happy quarantining!
