Digimon Adventure(2020) is the 8th anime series of the Digimon franchise and is the remake of the original Digimon Adventure of 1999. Although it heavily relies on arousing nostalgia among the audience, it has hardly been able to do so.
The anime broadcast schedule has already been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has begun rebroadcasting from episode 1 starting 7th June.
Meanwhile, the official website of Digimon Adventure has released a new character introduction trailer for the fans. It is a short version of the original 6-minute long introduction and contains teasers of the 4th and upcoming episodes.
The trailer has been posted on Toei Animation’s official Youtube channel.
The short video shows introduce the Digidestined and their Digimons:
- Taichi Yagami and Agumon
- Yamato Ishida and Gabumon
- Sora Takenouchi and Biyomon
- Koshiro Izumi and Tentomon
- Joe Kido and Gomamon
- Mimi Tachikawa and Palmon
- Takeru Takaishi and Patamon
- Hikari Yagami and Tailmon
The video also displays a few hints to the upcoming episodes. Several Digivolutions have been hinted at like Graymon, Garurumon, and Birdramon.
These are some of the advanced level Digivolutions, which means that the villains are powerful as well. We are also given a peek into some of the villains in the series.
The Digoevolved forms of Patamon and Tailmon have been kept secret, and it seems like both these Digimons hold the key to something important, which will be revealed in future episodes.
The Digidestined find themselves in an open palace with white columns. Taichi can hear what seems to be an important message from the white Digimon statue placed in the center of the area.
The next episodes are sure to be filled with power-packed battles and Digivolutions.
Digimon, short for “Digital Monsters,” is a Japanese media franchise offering toy pets, manga, anime, games, films, and even a trading card game. The franchise was created back in 1997 as a series of virtual pets, influenced by Tamagotchi/nano Giga Pet toys.
The franchise gained momentum with its first anime, Digimon Adventure, and an early video game, Digimon World, both of which were released in 1999.
Digimon, the series focuses on monsters like creatures, who inhabit a “Digital World,” a parallel universe that originated from Earth’s various communication networks. Digimon hatch from eggs called Digi-Eggs, and they go through Digivolution, which changes their appearance and increases their powers over time.
The effect of Digivolution, however, is not permanent. Digimon who have digivolved will find most of the time revert back to their previous form after a battle or if they are too weak to continue. Most of them can even speak.
