7. FAQ

7.1. Can You Watch The Persona Anime Without Playing The Games?

The anime adaptation of Persona isn’t as good as the games but is still very entertaining. You can watch the anime before playing the games and still enjoy the games if you decide to get into them later on.

The only underwhelming aspect of the Persona series is its main character. Since the anime is adapted from a video game, the original main character was the player itself.

Since the player could customize the main character, however, they wanted to, they had no specific quirk in the game. Also, in the original games, the mc was a silent protagonist and fundamentally had a ‘silent and cool’ aura. There no dialogue for the MC in games, and this factor affected the anime MC and, thus, had a not-so-interesting personality.

7.2 Should you play or watch Persona first?

As the Persona anime is an adaptation of the game, it is only right to play the games first. Additionally, many fans are of the opinion that the games are much better than the anime.

If you watch the anime before the game, it will spoil the game’s ending. The MC also has a cooler character in the game rather than in the anime, as the player is the protagonist.

7.3 Are Persona 3,4 and 5 connected?

While Persona 3,4 and 5 are based on games of the same name, they contain independent stories. The characters are also different, making the different installments far apart from each other.

8. Conclusion

You can use either the chronological or release order to watch Persona.

However, it is interesting to note that the stories in Persona 3, 4, and 5 are pretty self-contained and standalone. Their stories are entirely different and unrelated, so even if you don’t watch them chronologically, it will be fine.

9. About Persona

Persona is an anime series adapted from a popular game of the same name. Persona is highly popular and beloved for its soundtrack, characters, and themes.

The story follows different characters every season. The stories range from solving murder mysteries to stopping evil doers from committing crimes and turning their life. It is set in a world full of “Shadows,” the distorted depictions of one’s true selves. The protagonists get trapped in a world dominated by these Shadows and are forced to fight them with the help of their new found ability called “Persona.”

On their quest for good, they meet some allies and lots of enemies, all connected with each other through their Personas.
