Christina on the Coast Gets Renewed for Third Season

Fans of the real estate docu-series Christina on the Coast, get ready for the third season with your favorite house makeover specialist Christina Anstead.

Also, don’t worry, the rest of season 2 will be here before the production of the third begins. Meanwhile, season three is slated to premiere in spring 2021.

What’s the news

Network HGTV has announced the return of the series even as it prepares to complete airing the rest of the episodes of season 2.

According to HGTV, production will be underway by late August. There will be 12 new episodes for the third instalment of the Christina Anstead TV show.

Meanwhile, the rest of season two will premiere starting August 6.

“In late August, HGTV cameras will roll on the third season of the hit docu-series Christina on the Coast, starring real estate and design expert Christina Anstead,” said the official HGTV press release.

Who’s Christina Anstead?

HGTV viewers first got to know Christina on the Coast’s Christina Anstead on her hit series Flip or Flop, on which she starred with her then-husband Tarek El Moussa.

As the show’s popularity grew, the couple were soon counted among the network’s most popular stars — until they split up.

However, while the two were no longer married, they continued their professional partnership on Flip or Flop as if nothing had ever happened — or at least that was how it was meant to appear to viewers.

When Christina went solo

But by 2019, HGTV had decided it was time for Christina Anstead to go solo. This time, she wouldn’t be flipping houses, but helping clients transform outdated properties into high-end spaces filled with distinctive design elements and “cool SoCal style.”

Meanwhile, cameras would also document her personal life as she embarked on a new marriage with her second husband, British TV host Ant Anstead.

The new show then offered a glimpse into Christina’s life with husband Ant Anstead, star of the MotorTrend series Wheeler Dealers and Ant Anstead Master Mechanic, and their blended family of five children.

Shifting the focus to design, she added, was an organic evolution.

“I know what I always enjoyed about Flip or Flop was the design part, so it just naturally made sense to get more involved in doing makeovers,” Anstead explained.

“In Flip or Flop, we’re designing for the masses so the design has to be a little more streamlined [since] we’re appealing to all buyers in general,” she told Fox News. “Whereas on this show I’m designing for a specific person. So it’s really tailored to their own needs and much more design-specific… I really have to keep in mind what they love. I really get to know them [and] their taste.”

A huge success

The first season of the series trumpeted HGTV in a press release, propelled the network to the no. 2 position among all cable networks in that time slot among women 25 to 54. Moreover, HGTV’s Christina on the Coast brought in more than 12 million total viewers throughout its first season.
