Breaking News: More Jed In Legacies S3

The CW has renewed the supernatural drama Legacies for a third season with exciting cast updates. Season two of the double spin-off of The Vampire Diaries ended prematurely due to the coronavirus pandemic and left the viewers in major shock. While the wait to know whether Landon will ever be resurrected and why Hope never regained consciousness has been tough, fans are in for good news.

The remaining episodes of season two will come back shortly, possibly in 2020, since season three is set to premiere in January 2021.

There will be a lot more of Jed, the werewolf Alpha of the Salvatore Boarding School Pack, in the next season. Ben Levin, the actor who plays Jed, has been promoted to a series regular. The status of one more cast member has changed- Leo Howard -Ethan, the Sheriff’s son in Legacies – will join Ben Levin as a series regular in season three.

For those uninitiated to the show, Legacies is the official spin-off of The Originals, a spin-off of the popular series The Vampire Diaries. The series features many characters from both the shows but focusses mainly on Hope Mikaelson, a 17-year-old student at Salvatore Boarding School.

The tone of Legacies is very different compared to its predecessors. It is light and campy, with a new monster arriving every week to terrorize Hope and her group of friends. The show explores its connections with The Vampire Diaries universe thoroughly – many new characters that pop up around Hope are somehow tied to the stories of the original shows. But nothing beats the joy of seeing an old character (like a certain Kai Parker) come back.

If you haven’t watched Legacies yet, it is a great time to start. All seasons are available to stream on Netflix and The CW app.

About Legacies

Legacies revolves around the life of Hope Mikaelson, the 17-year-old orphan daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall, who were first mentioned in The Vampire Diaries. Two years after the devastating events of The Originals, Hope joins Salvatore School for the Young and the Gifted, where she tries to master her vampire/werewolf/witch tribrid powers.

Legacies is from Julie Plec, one of the creators of the Vampire Diaries. It premiered on October 25th, 2018, on The CW.
