Brand New Animal x Promare: A Visual Collab Has the Fans Riled Up

Most manga and anime fans are enthusiastic about new artwork. Fan made artworks are of course a well-known and appreciated thing in this field. But there is nothing more exciting to us than official artworks on our favorite anime especially if it has a unique side to it.

The anime series “BNA : Brand New Animal” and “Promare” have released a collaborative art visual which is genuinely pleasing to fans.

Both these anime are original works under Studio Trigger. The visual was created by Shigeto Koyama who is the character designer of Promare.

The artwork showcases BNA characters in the spotlight. Michiru the tankuki-human and Shirou the wolf-human are portrayed standing back to back. The Promare characters Galo and Lio are seen approaching them on a motorcycle from a distance.

The background silhouette is that of Anima city from BNA. The visual displays a pop style art with delicate colours.

The official website of BNA also released an interview of Hiroyuki Imaishi (Promare director), Yoh Yoshinari (BNA director), and Kazuki Nakashima (chief writer of both).

In this interview Imaishi confessed that the reason he worked for producing BNA only for a short while was because the production procedure of Promare took longer than expected and it affected BNA’s production.

Thus he participated in directing an action sequence of BNA on his own accord. He also admitted to enjoying working on the action storyboards.

Kazuki Nakashima also commented on the difference of working with different directors. The 5th episode of BNA is liked by both the directors as well as Nakashima because Imaishi did the action storyboards.

The artwork indeed seems really cool with colors that demand attention. This may also be a hint to a potential collaboration between the two anime or even a one-shot.
