Stemming from two strong bloodlines, Boruto has prodigious talent. He has shown the capability to learn techniques in short periods and is regarded as being able to accomplish anything he attempts.
He is deemed to be far beyond his years, having mastered various jonin-level feats despite his young age. Sasuke acknowledged Boruto’s potential and selected him as his disciple. Under his tutelage, Boruto refined his skills to prove crucial in the fight against Momoshiki and the Mujina Bandits.
1. Will Boruto surpass Naruto?
Since the beginning of Boruto, it has been established and reinforced that Boruto is stronger than Naruto when he was this age. In addition to that, the story has been progressing in favor of its protagonist’s strength, i.e., Boruto Uzumaki.
2. Boruto’s Powers and Abilities
I. Can Boruto use Chidori?
After Sasuke acknowledged Boruto’s potential and selected him as his disciple, Boruto refined his skills to prove crucially in the fight against Momoshiki and the Mujina Bandits.
Boruto Uzumaki has not shown the use of Chidori as of yet, however, Chidori being Sasuke’s special moves, and Boruto’s proficient use of lightning element proves that he will be using Chidori soon enough.
II. Can Boruto use Rasengan?
At Sasuke’s insistence, Boruto learns how to perform the Rasengan from Konohamaru Sarutobi after extensive practice, initially doing so with both his hands. His Rasengan also has the special ability to be invisible right after launch.
While initially creating the Rasengan, he subconsciously applied wind-natured chakra to it, making it his greatest technique.
Upon throwing the technique, the nature transformation abruptly activates, turning it invisible, and tricks the opponent into letting their guard down as sufficient damage is inflicted when it makes contact.
Though Boruto’s Rasengan is initially small, he did ultimately demonstrate the ability to create a normal-sized one.
III. Can Boruto use Byakugan?
Boruto’s body can indeed use Momoshiki’s Byakugan through the karma mark when he takes over. Boruto, himself, has not shown the use of Byakugan yet, and won’t do so in the foreseeable future.
Despite not awakening his Byakugan, Boruto subconsciously awakened a dojutsu in his right eye, Jougan, which appeared to be featureless. It grants him the ability to detect things such as chakra which is generally unseen by a normal eye.
This dojutsu can perceive the flow of chakra, enabling Boruto to see the visible changes in one’s chakra and likewise track a target through its chakra. It can also determine the key point of the chakra pathway system and see-through invisible barriers that connect between dimensions.
IV. Can Boruto use Gentle Fist?
Boruto Uzumaki has an extensive grasp of Taijutsu and can use a leveled down version of Gentle Fist. Due to him not having a Byakugan, Boruto cannot use the perfect Gentle Fist as of yet.
Boruto has been training since young and it is apparent in his nimble actions despite his carefree attitude. He is noticeably fast, able to quickly get behind his opponents secretly.
He displayed an aptitude for Taijutsu, even before joining the Academy while sparring with his father. In the Academy, he was able to hold his own against Iwabee, a senior student. Likewise, he can shift his body in mid-air to change tactics.
V. Can Boruto use Sage Mode?
As of now, Boruto hasn’t yet learned to use Sage Mode. However, it isn’t too hard to see that Boruto can eventually learn the Sage Mode as well. He certainly does have all the prerequisites for this technique and only needs to train hard to pull it off.
VI. Will Boruto learn Flying Raijin?
Boruto hasn’t yet learned Flying Raijin however, he is likely to learn it later on. Unlike Naruto, Boruto doesn’t have the monstrous amounts of Chakra to rely on and he relies on speed rather than brute force. Flying Raijin might indeed be suitable for Boruto.
