Boruto Chapter 46 Teases Kashin Koji is Jiraiya, But Different

Being a sequel of an iconic manga regarded as one of the “Big Three,” Boruto: Naruto Next Generations’ manga was off to a shaky start for sure.

However, it made readers come around with the introduction of a new Akatsuki parallel, and Boruto manga’s very own mysterious crime organizationKara.

The Kara raised many questions, one of which offered a ray of hope to the Naruto veterans like me — Who is Kashin Koji? Is he related to Jiraiya, or Jiraiya himself?

Chapter 46 of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga, titled “True Identity,” was released recently and looks like we have an answer to that question. Kashin Koji is neither Jiraiya nor his son; rather, he is Jiraiya’s clone made by Amado.

I was created to kill you

Chapter 45 titled “Amado“, ended in a very interesting way. In the final panels of the chapter, Jigen talks to Kashin about their deal of gaining the chakra fruit, to which, Koji replies, “I was created to kill you.”

This riled up fans around the world like wildfire, and many theories came into being. We have a lot of our theories too, I have compiled the ones that seem most solid, you can read them below!

Among all the theories, one came above every other — Kashin Koji was indeed created to kill Jigen by Amado using Jiraiya’s DNA, thus making him Jiraiya’s clone.

Chapter 46 further backs up by two statements:

  • Kashin Koji saying Killing Jigen is his supreme objective and the reason for his existence, this explains he is a clone and not a human.
  • Amado reveals that he and Koji have been in cahoots since the beginning. Both of them infiltrated Kara with the sole purpose of killing Jigen.

Well, whose clone can kill a god-like being better than the person who trained two shinobi, went on to gain the power of the gods, one woman with enough power to annihilate an entire country, and a Hokage who literally toyed with the Raikage and his aid.

Naruto’s Suspicions

Another thing that is very important to note is Naruto’s suspicion. I mean it is obvious for all the Naruto veterans to see Jiraiya’s moves again — the Katon, the wits, the experience of outmanoeuvring a stronger foe, the use of toads and toad oil, etc.

Same goes for the boy who was trained by Jiraiya himself — the seventh hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Upon seeing Kashin Koji’s moves as he fights Jiraiya, Naruto becomes suspicious and utters the following words, “The way that masked guy fights… It’s like…”

If this doesn’t speak for itself, I don’t know what will. Hence, we believe that Kashin Koji is indeed a clone of Jiraiya made by Amado.

If you have any other theories about Jiriya’s identity, feel free to mention them below in the comments section.
