Blue Lock Anime Reveals Character Visual Featuring An Intimidating MC

To put it simply, Blue Lock is essentially just a less tragic and gore-ish version of Squid Game. The key difference between both would be that Blue Lock is about football and high-schoolers who aspire to become the best strikers in the world.

This sports anime is unlike any other you’ve ever come across. The story starts with over 300 talented strikers from all over Japan, selected for the Blue Lock Project by the eccentric coach Jinpachi Ego.

The coach locks up these 300 participants in a prison-like facility and pits them against each other. The one who comes out victorious will become the national team’s striker and aim for the World Cup.

Blue Lock anime revealed the character PV for its protagonist, Yoichi Isagi. He wishes to clear doubts about himself and focus on his ultimate goal of becoming the greatest striker in the world.

The anime will premiere in 2022. The franchise will reveal more information on release dates and streaming platforms soon.

Visual of Egoist

“Visual of Egoist – Isagi Yoichi”

Yoichi dreams of becoming the ace striker of the Japanese national team and winning the World Cup.

I will release a visual that you can feel his honesty and the egoism that is hidden inside.

The new visual is titled ‘Visual of Egoist,’ representing the theme of the Blue Lock Project and coach Jinpachi’s ideology. Jinpachi thinks that being egoistic, selfish, and hungry for scoring goals is vital for being a flawless striker.

The protagonist, Yoichi, looks scary and intimidating while holding a soccer ball with both of his hands. His expressions suggest that the only thing going on in his mind is scoring as many goals as he can.

Blue Lock stands out in the sports anime genre because it generates the idea of being selfish and thinking of yourself to get to the top. It comes off as more realistic than other shonen anime where selflessness and growing together are the central themes.

I am looking forward to what sports and shonen anime fans will say about Blue Lock. Moreover, I am doubtful about the show continuing to make egoism and selfishness as its primary themes till the end, but I hope they do.

Such anime are always a refreshing break from the good old self-sacrificing protagonists where the emotions become overwhelming. In short, I can’t wait for it to be released.

About Blue Lock

Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.

The story begins with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which prompts the Japanese Football Union to start a program scouting high school players who will begin training in preparation for the 2022 Cup.

Isagi Youichi, a forward, receives an invitation to this program soon after his team loses the chance to go to Nationals because he passed to his less-skilled teammate.

Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to “destroy Japanese loser football” by introducing a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called “Blue Lock”.
