As if the Black Clover manga was not already swarming with tons of powerful devils, chapter 286 introduces the three supreme devils. These three devils are the rulers of the underworld. One amongst them is Lucifero, the gravity devil.
Since the gravity devil is already revealed, fans have already started coming up with theories about who the other two devils are. Do we already know about these devils? Or will they emerge from the Tree of Qlipoth?
1. The Faust Family
The Faust family had dedicated themselves to studying forbidden dark magic for generations. Nacht was a prodigy in the dark arts, and soon he had made contracts with four devils. Morgen, being a magic knight, was the black sheep of the family.
It is through the Faust family that we get to know about the devils who rule the underworld. The Faust family planted the idea that Nacht could even control the supreme devil when he was clearly not powerful enough.
The Nacht family may have once studied devils and contracts in order to find a diplomatic way to solve the problems of the kingdom. However, with time, they succumbed to the greed of power, which eventually led to their demise.
2. The Three Ruling Devils and Lucifugus
The underworld is ruled by the three devils of time, space, and gravity. As we already know, Lucifero is the gravity devil, and the other two devils are yet unknown. There is a pillar devil who supports the rulers, and its name is Lucifugus.
Asta has already faced Lucifero and defeated him. Yes, the devil’s full power was not unlocked yet, and now that the Tree of Qlipoth is open, the devil’s power will increase. However, Asta has also trained and achieved the union mode with Liebe.
We can conclude from this that not only do the devils have lower and higher ranking between them based on their powers, they are also ruled by three devils. Lucifugus might be the one who oversees the activities of all devils and serves the rulers.
3. Who are the Space and Time Devils?
There is a huge possibility that Zenon possesses the space devil. Although his devil is yet unnamed, Zenon can manipulate space. He can create spatial cubes to negate the mana trapped in it.
However, the biggest speculation going on is about who possesses the time devil or if it has even arrived from the underworld yet. The only person who can use time magic is Julius, and his power can easily surpass that of any devil.
Maybe Julius is in possession of a devil, but we don’t know about it yet? If so, then the time devil will easily surpass the other devils’ powers as time manipulation will negate any attack or damage.
However, there is a chance that Lucifugus is more powerful than the three rulers, and that is why it is their pillar. Like how knights are stronger than kings (normally).
The supreme devil, Lucifugus, is bound to appear in the story sooner or later, and it might be the biggest challenge that our heroes will face.
