Black Clover manga is currently in the Spade Kingdom arc. We are finally getting to know more about the other kingdoms, their cultures, and especially the devils. It looks like Tabtata’s cards for a big showdown are set, and all his pawns are where he wants them to be.
The last chapter, Black Clover 255, ended with Vanica x Megicula leaving the Heart Kingdom in ruins and the focus shifting back to Yami vs Dante battle.
Now, if Yami & Dante stay true to their promise about showing their true powers – Black Clover 256 is going to be EPIC!
I have some speculations, and expected plots, including the raw scans and spoilers for the next one (chapter 256) that you guys would definitely wanna know!
1. Chapter 256 Discussions and Predictions
The ending of chapter 255 made the subsequent chapter, chapter 256, pretty straightforward. The chapter can go either of the two ways that I have listed below, out of which, the possibility of the event I is more than 80%.
I. Yami vs Dante
Chapter 256 will bring the discussion of ‘who’s stronger between Dante and Yami’ put to rest. It will be an interesting fight since we know both of the contenders are as strong as one can get.
Most of the Black Clover fandom refers Yami to a shonen protagonist who already completed his story and is just chilling out here – if you ask me, it does make a lot of sense! In addition to this, Yami did win the first and second round of the battle with ease.
On the other hand, Dante is the king of Spade Kingdom and the primary antagonist of Spade Kingdom arc; there is no chance that he is going to lose just yet.
Even though the plot itself is pretty straightforward for the next chapter, the outcome and how Tabata handles it will be interesting to see.
II. Dark Disciples vs Clover Knights
It is highly unlikely that Tabata will shift the focus at such a crucial moment. But if he does, we will definitely see some more PLUS ULTRA stuff there.
III. Noelle & Heart Kingdom
The entirety of Black Clover fandom definitely wants to see what will happen in the Heart Kingdom. Will the most prosperous and secluded kingdom be destroyed and that too by the hands of a devil host?
Well, that does seem pretty unlikely in a Tabata-universe. This means there might be a way for Noelle, Luck, Mimosa, Gaja and the other mages in the Heart Kingdom to stop Vanica’s magic, ‘The Exploding Life,’ from going KABOOM.
Even though it’s pretty obvious, how they are going to pull it off will be definitely worth reading.
IV. Vice-Captain of Black Bulls
In the beginning of Black Clover manga, Yami and the others did tell Asta that there are more Black Bulls members that are either on missions or somewhere else.
That ‘secret silhoutte’ has been speculated to be none other than the vice-captain of the Black Bulls magic knight squad.
This theory has only gotten more realistic since the appearance of a mysterious Black Bulls spy with Shadow magic in the Spade Kingdom.
If that ain’t the vice-captain of Kuro no Bogyu I don’t know what’s true anymore!

2. Chapter 256 Raw Scans, Leaks
Raw scans for Black Clover chapter 256 came out recently and it looks like the next chapter is going to be amazing fellas!
The chapter will be titled ‘Obligation as a Captain.’ It starts with Finral’s inner battle on whether to interfere in Yami vs Dante or not.
In the next chapter, Black Clover 256, we will see Dante unleashing 80% of Lucifero against Yami Sukehiro. Yami will decide to surpass his limits, as always, and defeat Dante once and for all.
The captain of the Black Bulls proves his mantle by seemingly backing Dante into a corner. He manages to (literally) destroy Dante’s body with his super-condensed magic, ‘Dark Magic: Sudden Death,’ and says this,
I was trying to do a thrust, but it came out like a canon, huh!
Yami does it again! How can this guy be the coolest and still get cooler every passing chapter?!
3. Chapter 256 Release Date
Chapter 256 of the Black Clover manga will be released on Sunday, July 5, 9:30 am PDT. The chapter will be titled ‘Obligation as a Captain.’
In the next chapter, we will see the conclusion of Yami vs Dante battle, with both William and Lolopechka captured, it is highly unlikely that Yami Sukheiro will be captured, but the fight will be interesting nonetheless.

6. Chapter 255 Recap
Black Clover chapter 255, titled ‘Exploding Life,’ started with Noelle stabbing Vanica from her Valkyrie Dress lance, but failing to manage a fatal blow.
Apparently, she calculated that! She shots up a point-blank “Sea Dragon’s Roar” on Vanica while the latter defends with her Blood magic: Crimson beast.
Vanica begins to claim that Noelle’s attack didn’t affect her but ends up coughing blood. She acknowledges Noelle’s strength and asks for her name, Noelle Silva, a Royal of the Clover Kingdom, and a Magic Knight of the Black Bulls.
Vanica tells Noelle that she remembers now, she once fought Noelle’s mother – Acier Silva. She decides to take Lolopechka a hostage instead of killing her. Vanica tells Noelle that her mother became “very strong” when the former took children as hostages, so she will take Lolopechka a hostage to make Noelle strong and then fight her.
She then decides to get out of Heart Kingdom and leaves a special gift behind. Vanica cast a magic spell, [rough translation] Curse Magic: Exploding Life – that would make the devil powers in the Dark Disciples to explode, thus destroying the Heart Kingdom.
The final panels will shift the focus back to Yami vs Dante. Yami manages to land a blow on Dante again to which Dante tells Yami the true power of a Devil-possessed human.
7. About Black Clover
Black Clover is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since February 16, 2015.
The story centres around Asta, a young boy seemingly born without any magic power, something that is unknown in the world he lives in. With his fellow mages from the Black Bulls, Asta plans to become the next Wizard King.
