Banana Fish Rekindles Fandom as Stage Play Reveals Seven New Cast Members for 1st Part

Banana Fish, one of the most emotional and heart touching anime, is now back with a two-part stage play. The gorgeous main cast of the stage play has already been revealed, and fans just can’t get enough of them.

This time, seven more cast members have been revealed. Ash and Eiji were two people whose worlds were completely different. However, they were brought together and became each other’s strength and support.

Banana Fish has just announced seven cast members for the first part of the two-part stage play that will premiere in June. Banana Fish: The Stage Zenpen is the first part, and it will run from 10th to 20th June at The Galaxy Theatre, Tokyo.

The release date of the stage play’s second part has not been announced yet. Banana Fish previously received stage play adaptations in 2005, 2009, and 2012. All the Asian characters in the series have received suitable cast members.

MAPPA animated the entire manga in 2018, and it has two cours. The vintage art style and the storytelling technique have become popular among fans ever since it was released.

One prime difference between the anime and the manga was that while the manga was set in the 1980s, the anime changed the timeline to modern-day New York. It will be interesting to see if the stage play stays true to the manga or makes its own changes.
